I just read your Feb 5 blog and something at the end struck me. You said if we see a person in uniform to go up to them and thank them - I am so glad you said this because I always feel this deep sort of sadness, or something I can't name - when I see military personnel. I have an overwhelming desire to DO something or say something but I never have because I don't know what to say or how. I feel stupid admitting that because I am not shy about talking to anyone but for some reason I am struck dumb by the sight of a soldier on an airplane returning from Afghanistan. I get tears in my eyes, I cry, I don't know what to do. So you are saying - just go up to them and say thank you? And they will know why, or expect it, or understand me? If you say so - I will try it. Thanks for saying that - it may sound silly to be so shy about it, but your telling me to do this truly is inspiring me to do so. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks for focusing on this subject.
